Special Feature: Interview with Roark Donovan
Hi Roark, thanks for joining us!
Thank you for inviting me. I don’t usually grant interviews, but I think this is a special circumstance.
First things first, we are super excited to read your book when it comes out in less than two weeks! Can you tell us what to expect?
A lot of changes in my family’s life. [looks away for a moment] We went through some traumatic things in this book, the Donovans and the Rayder family. But in the end, we came together to protect each other and to fight the forces against us. It was intense at times and I don’t think we were all sure we’d come out whole on the other side, but we did. [nods] Not only did we come out whole, but I think we came out better. There’s also some happy baby news announced. It seems we’re always adding to this family.
For our readers, can you describe yourself in three words?
I’m sure if you’d asked someone else this question, they’d likely give a variety of answers. But the three traits I’m most proud of are: loyal, responsible, and disciplined.
Okay, now describe Tamika in three words.
[quick smile, clears his throat and returns to serious glare] She’s generous, caring, tenacious and just a little bit bossy. I know you only asked for three but there’s so much more I can say about her.
Hmm, I wonder what she’d say about those answers… Your cousin Dane also had his own book. Did you read it? And if so, what did you think?
I’m a very busy man but I always make time to support my family, so yeah, I read it. As you know Dane is new to our family, so reading his book gave me great insight on all that he’d been through to get where he is today. There was some danger that I don’t think any of us expected, but again we persevered. Zera complements him and I believe they’ll have a good union with a long and prosperous future together.
What about the rest of the Donovan Dynasty? Is there anything you can tell us about what’s to come for your family?
As always with my family, there’re more challenges on the horizon, but we’ll be ready for them and we’ll face them all together. I didn’t used to be a romantic guy. [shrugs] Still don’t know if I could be called that specifically, I guess you’d have to ask Tamika her three traits to best describe me. But what I do know is that if what I’m feeling now is any indication of what ‘happy ever after’ is, then I’m prescribing it for my siblings and all of my cousins. They deserve it.
Alright, we know you’re a busy man, and we really appreciate your time. Is there anything you want to share with us before we sign off?
Just that I’m very proud of my family and all the things we’ve accomplished. If you haven’t had a chance to experience any of our greatest victories, then please, check out some of the previous books. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.
So, there you have it. We hope that you are all as excited about the April 28 release of Roark as we are! Because we know that it’s hard to be patient, we want to just remind you to head over to Book+Main and check out these fantastic Bites posted by AC Arthur.
Plus, we’d be remiss not to mention that the first book in the Donovan Dynasty series, Dane, is on sale for just 99c at the moment. Roark enjoyed reading it, and you will too. But don’t wait too long to snap up your copy—the sale ends when April does . . .
