Weekly New Releases: May 31
Being a romance reader comes with many perks. Chief among which is the sheer number of books we get to look forward to every single week. But there’s a downside to all that choice: the decision paralysis that comes with trying to pinpoint exactly where to start. And, seeing as we are in the business of books—specifically romance books—it seemed wise to take the time to sort through the pile and try to bring some organization to it. For you, of course. This is a purely altruistic act. So, read on to see what books are on offer this week, and what tropes and subgenres they belong to!
Need more romance reads? We’ve got you covered! Check out Donna’s Summer Reads Spotlight on Finding Ronan’s Heart by Melanie Moreland (she loved it!) and Julie’s Shifters Round-Up (so many growly alphas!).
FEATURED NEW RELEASES
Look, I’m not going to lie and say I’m not a little disappointed that this is a novella — I am, but only because I’ve been kind of fascinated with Gold Valley’s favorite bartender, Laz, since the beginning of the series. But a friends-to-lovers story with a runaway bride and a smokin’ hot cowboy who runs a bar? Not disappointed about that, AT ALL.
Ask pretty much any of my colleagues here at Book+Main, and they’ll tell you that I absolutely loved Beth O’Leary’s The Flatshare. I actually bought copies for several of them because I wanted — needed — to share that love. Needless to say, then, seeing her name on the cover of this book makes it a must-read for me. The cute cover is just a bonus!
So, I have this friend, and she is borderline obsessed with Lucy Lennox. Which is cool, because her obsession has bled over to me, and now, I cannot wait for this small town-meets-Hollywood M/M romance between said small town’s sheriff and the former child star who’s filming there. Excuse me while I impatiently wait for this one to hit my Kindle.
My pre-romance reading days were spent enjoying crime novels and thrillers, so it makes sense that this on-going series from Kelly Utt intrigues me. After moving south for a slower pace, Annie finds herself stopping a murder — and receiving mysterious signs from the sea in the form of colored seaglass. What other secrets are hiding on Hideaway Isle?!
ALSO RELEASING THIS WEEK
Beth Cranford was born and raised in Australia, but followed her heart (and her husband) to the United States in her late 20s. As the mother of two kids, she’s learned that you can turn anything into a song and that slime does not belong in carpeted areas (or polite society). You can most often find her with her Kindle in hand, listening to Taylor Swift on repeat, or spending way too many hours playing Animal Crossing.
Follow her @BethCranford on B+M Bites.
